Hair Connection Remodels Historic Building
ByNEENAH, WI, February 7, 2006 – They could move or they could renovate, but one thing was certain: the Hair Connection needed more room and a new look. Jeanne Mykel and Connie Koehnke, owners of the Hair Connection, made the decision to stay put and renovate, and they’re glad they did.
“Our clients were wonderful,” said Mykel. “Our builder worked around the salon’s schedule. We did an extensive remodeling and only had to close for two days. Everyone stayed upbeat and friendly throughout the entire process.”
Bricks were salvaged from a demolished wall so that the 96-year old building’s original facade could be retained. But the interior received a total makeover.
A spacious, new reception area, handicap accessible styling station, restroom and office now grace a ground level. Walls were moved and new equipment was added on the main level. A professional interior designer pulled it all together, adding the style that Mykel and Koehnke were looking for. “We wanted our salon to feel warm, friendly and up-to-date,” says Mykel. “We know and greet our customers by name, and we pride ourselves on being on the leading edge of style. Now our salon looks the part.”
To kick-off the salon’s grand re-opening celebration, the Hair Connection awarded a free “total makeover” to one lucky contestant. The makeover will be revealed during the Morning Show on February 11th, from 8 am – 9 am, on CBS Channel 5. The makeover recipient will receive a new hairstyle, makeup and professional nails.
Visitors to the Hair Connection between February 11th – 18th are eligible to participate in drawings for free tanning, makeup and retail prizes. All gifts will be awarded February 18, 2006.
